Two [is] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9
Athletes go through a range of emotions on a daily basis. We are challenged not only physical, but mentally in training and recovery. I wonder continually if what I have done in training is enough to put me on a podium, or if I am even capable of the goals I set. But I am truly fortunate to have my family; they are continuous supporters of all my journeys and regardless of a win or a loss they are there hugging me at the finish line. Having that type of support and love is an example of the “good rewards” I have in my life daily.
Now I have a desire to change the generally individual sport of track and field, into a team activity. Me into We. My mom used to say “many hands make light work,” and Shelia would remind me that “team work makes the dream work.” Never once have I felt alone in my journey towards my goals because of the amazing community that has surrounded me. I was born into a family of four kids, so working together was expected. Now, I love the support and encouragement that is shown within my family. If that is my sisters and brother cheering louder than everyone else in the stands, or my mom and dad giving me hugs after an amazing race, or an absolutely horrible race. We were in it together. And that is the purpose of this website and blog. To experience it all together.
So as I move forward in training I ask you to come alongside me. Walk in my shoes, sit in the stands, and see my journey in athletics. See the struggles associated with injuries, and the effort it takes to overcome those struggles. Feel every intense moment of competitions.
I will post dates of competitions, training camps and travels with their locations. If you have availability, it would be amazing to see your support in the stands, through prayer, or comments of encouragement. And if you would like to assist me financially, there is a section designated for that.
Thank you for taking time to look at my website, and for supporting me and my dreams to be a Canadian representative for the upcoming Olympic games
